External Affairs Sr Director
Reports to PIF BoD
The External Affairs Sr Director acts as the representative of PIF to relevant bodies, including the Department of Health, the sector’s regulators, other trade associations and other relevant stakeholders. Key objective of the role is to advocate, represent and promote PIF’s mission and views.
External Affairs Sr Director will have direct responsibility for the delivery of the following services:
- Health Policy and Stakeholder Management
- Monitor Policy Developments, gain policy and government insights and timely disseminate information to PIF Board and member companies accordingly
- Organize, coordinate and co-lead PIF committees (i.e. external affairs, communications, finance, medical etc.), under the sponsorship of the respective BoD member, collect and present deliverables to the BoD)
- Represent PIF as a representative in Working Groups and relevant stakeholder or payors’ initiated committees and convey the views of PIF Board and PIF committees
- Represent PIF in stakeholder meetings in collaboration with PIF President or BoD members, or even alone, if need arises.
- Organize, co-ordinate and co-lead the communication among PIF committees, the Board and member companies.
- Communicate BoD decisions to members
- Develop, maintain and update PIF stakeholder engagement plan and report progress to the BoD
- Maintain continuous exchange of information with SFEE, PEF, EFPIA and PHRMA – LAWG, AmCham and other relevant stakeholders including embassies
- Continually develop, maintain, and refresh a network of key influencers across a wide range of stakeholder organizations, institutions and authorities
- External Communication
- Build and lead communication strategy and key messaging and tactical plan
- Brand PIF to increase awareness, institutional representation and attract new members to broaden the representation of the Association.
- Maintain and enhance strong PIF reputation by building solid communications with news media, social media, policy and scientific stakeholders, and the public by proactive communication and issues management/crisis planning
- Engage with and supervise a competent media office to offer adequate external communications and media support and promote PIF and its views, as well as providing the resource to respond quickly and constructively to media enquiries
- Design, construct, advice and produce briefing papers and policy documents for submission to relevant parties as issues arise
- Monitor the traditional and social/digital media environment to identify emerging issues
- Manage the Association’s website regular updates
- Internal Communication
- Be the Single Point of Contact for PIF members and ensure that their inputs are well communicated to the BoD
- Organize PIF meetings, conferences and working parties
- Ensure the right forum for interactive support and communication is provided for all PIF members, including seeking members’ views and proactive alignment
- Provide media and political monitoring services to PIF members
- Project Management
- Lead the execution of Association’s projects by organizing work tasks & accurately estimate time and resource allocation
- Responsible for the effective communication to all internal and external stakeholders of information related to multiple projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Business and/or Communications
- Experience within the Greek Healthcare / Health Policy environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset, can-do attitude, ability to work independently
- Strategic mindset and excellent business judgement and understanding
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal and media communications skills are a must.
- Experience in planning and rolling out relevant projects.
- Fluent in English and Greek both written and oral
